At the time of writing I see there are only 287 days to go to Christmas! So, not surprisingly, I suppose, the big whole page advert on the front of our local paper urges us to book our Christmas party now.

There is an "all inclusive" price of £42. I assume "all inclusive" for a Christmas 'do' includes someone re-counting the story of the baby Jesus born in a stable and the visits of the shepherds and wise men...
